An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children Services Department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and committed Service Coordinator to join the Paediatric team at Watford General Hospital.

The post holder will be responsible for the efficient, operational management of administrative functions within the Paediatric Services. This includes the day-to-day and long-term operational and strategic management of the service including delivering performance/activity targets. In addition, they will carry their own administrative workload appropriate to the role.


There has never been a more exciting time to join West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Major redevelopment works are planned as part of the New Hospital Programme.

These will be most dramatic at Watford General Hospital where up to 90% of buildings will be new.

The post holder will manage a team of administrative staff in the delivery of high quality administrative and clerical service, providing leadership and facilitating effective team working.


The post holder will act as Line manager for Receptionists, Schedulers and Admin Assistants and will be responsible for their supervision, 1:1 support, development, appraisals, absence management, HR related issues and performance management.


The role will also involve overlooking the clinics, clinic templates on EPR and their corrections/amendments, arranging reception rota, overlooking incoming referrals on ERS and bookings.

Post holder will also support the ADM/ASM in day to day operational issues as they arise.
