Description

The Portfolio Officer will work with the PMO and Commercial Lead to provide high quality portfolio support within IM&T projects.

The post holder will be responsible for directing, leading, and managing a team of Project Support Officers who will collectively ensure compliance and standards throughout all projects, provide general project and administrative duties.

The post holder further functions as the expert resource and first point of contact and on-going liaison for all internal and external parties on matters relating to the PMO and it's associated programmes and projects


Working as an autonomous team member and as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team you may be required to support specific programmes and projects within the PMO and may also be assigned small/low impact user requests in which to oversee the implementation of.

As a Portfolio Officer in IM&T, you will be working closely alongside a wide range of technical, operational and clinical stakeholders to ensure a smooth delivery of the portfolio delivery plan.

The portfolio works to digitally enable the healthcare provision across our Acute hospital services and the wider Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust )

The post holder will;

  • Support the creation and maintenance of a forward looking workprogramme covering the various programmes of work
  • Work under own initiative to resolve issues and manage work load requirements, be selfmotivated and proactively seek and resolve difficulties.
  • Support the planning and organising complex programmes of work to include multiple projects against a demanding and often conflicting timescale.
  • To be the first point of contact for internal and external parties for all matters relating to IM&T Project Management Office (PMO) functions. To aim to resolve issues whenever possible and when required direct queries to other staff in a timely manner.
  • To provide a PMO function inclusive of authoring delegated papers, coordinating agendas, producing papers and taking minutes for designated meetings and Programme / Project Boards as necessary. Papers will require the post holder to gather data from multiple sources and manipulate/interpret the data to present information in an accessible format to a multidisciplinary audience. Take action for designated project meetings.
  • Attend internal and external meetings as required, take responsibility for appropriate actions and report back formally to the relevant member(s) of the team.
  • Produce reports and technical documents as instructed using by not limited to MS Excel, Word and Project.
  • Support programme and project delivery activities, including project support for key work streams.
  • To line and task manage a team of Project Support Officers and to provide opportunities for their ongoing development
  • Be responsible and accountable for the project management information systems, including the integrity of the data, inputting and reporting on the data held for the needs of the project.
  • Support the PMO, Programme or Project Managers to which you are assigned, to update and maintain relevant documents/registers of information
