The role (fixed term until March 2025 but with likely extension):

You will be part of setting up and implementing a new service, providing evidence-based Brief Interventions to people with non-dependent alcohol use.

You will be passionate about our work and aim to make the service accessible to diverse populations who do not traditionally use our services.

You will hold a caseload of individuals and work with them in various settings, including through phone calls and online.

This role would suit a creative, solution-focused individual with excellent engagement skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • To deliver evidencebased sessions with service users who wish to make changes around their alcohol use.
  • To manage a caseload of service users from initial referral to completion of treatment.
  • To encourage ambition, motivate and support individuals to achieve their goals.
  • To support service users to access other opportunities as required.

What we are looking for:


  • Minimum of 1 year's relevant experience of working directly with people who use alcohol or other drugs.
  • A profound belief in an individual's capacity for change and an ability to motivate others to change.
  • Capacity to handle responsibility and remain enthusiastic and motivated working with people with complex needs.
  • Strong engagement skills, demonstrating flexibility, persistence and imagination in engaging service users.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with other organisations, including GPs and other health professionals.
