Tradewind are working on behalf of a Liverpool secondary school who require a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to work with secondary aged students who struggle with their reading and have a reading age of below 7 years.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working with small groups supporting the students who have reading difficulties, provide phonics support, and reading intervention.

This fulltime role (8.30am start until 3.30pm) is to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

Can use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and help them make progress in their reading.
Can provide feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their phonic skills and reading comprehension.
Has experience working with students with reading difficulties and a sound knowledge of phonics and reading interventions.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Has a positive approach to ensuring the best outcome for all students.

You will need:

Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service or be prepared to undertake a new one
Full and complete 10year career history
Minimum of 2 references including your most recent employment reference
Legal right to work in the UK
