Description

Working with one of the UK's leading automotive manufacturers, this is an exciting opportunity for a Audio, HMI and Infotainment Test Engineer to work on a variety of prototype vehicles including Electric/Hybrid and Autonomous Vehicle projects.

Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1.20pm
Hybrid working typically 3 days/week on site in Cranfield

Pay Rate:
£25.96/hour PAYE plus £3.89/hr holiday and £0.78 pension accrual
Salary equivalent £52,646
Techniche Umbrella Rate £34.58
You will be supporting the Electrical & Electronic Test team with:

  • The validation of infotainment electrical systems, driver display systems, parking systems on bench and in vehicle for functional, performance and reliability to company design/test standards/specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Tune and validate company audio systems for audio sound quality and handsfree sound quality.
  • Creation of test plans to meet with project and design milestones
  • Creation of testing procedures, confirmation of vehicle spec and test parts required for test, includes arrangement of vehicle transportation when required
  • Overall vehicle test technical coordination role where required (project leader).
  • Formal reporting of test results to design sections and to upper management
  • Root cause investigation and countermeasure recommendation.
  • Technical support to the production plant when necessary
  • Field investigation support on occasion
  • Some management of suppliers

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Understand electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
  • Have fluent written and verbal English language capability.
  • Be able to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans
  • Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Be able to operate CANalyzer, CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Matlab software or similar for capturing data, analysis of data and preparing/executing test procedures.
  • Understanding of sound quality ITU-P1100, ITU-P1110, ITU-P1120, ITU-P1140. Familiarity with Audacity, Ableton or other DAW's.
  • Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
  • Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques.
  • Be conversant with digital oscilloscopes, and basic electrical test equipment.
  • Have relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
