Assistant Buyer / Stock Controller based in Biggleswade £27400
Main Purpose of Role
Responsibility and accountability for the picking of ancillary items and supporting the Warehouse and Procurement team at the site.

To support the purchasing function of MRP translation and purchase order creation in line with lead-times and ensuring Quality, Delivery and Cost in line with.

Expediting when required, ensuring delivery on time and cover for the Warehouse and Procurement TeamLeader.

Ancillaries:

  • Picking ancillaries order as per Picking List for each job
  • Packing orders in cardboard boxes, marking with customer name, job number, reference and box content transporting the boxes into the despatch area
  • Reporting any shortages to Despatch Manager and to Customer Service with clear communication on what the issue is and what job this effects. Also communicating what action is taking place to resolve the issue and next steps.
  • Performing stock counts and ensuring correct stock is available in line with requirements
  • Ordering new stock and restocking as and when required
Stores requirements

  • Collecting Requisition Forms from assemblers daily.
  • Opening and closing of the Stores Area as and when required
  • Support the warehouse team with distributing the hardware from the Stores Area to assemblers as per Requisition Forms to restock the assembly benches.
  • Responsible for upkeep and restocking of the Stores Area performing stock takes for the Stores Area. Raising Purchase Orders for hardware needed as and when required
  • To control and review the appropriate levels of all stock items to ensure continuity of supply to production. Communicating any supply problems which may impact on business operations in a timely manner. To maintain inventory levels of purchased stock andraw materials against preset targets (inventory values).
Purchasing requirements

  • MRP translation and completing Purchase order creation in line with lead times and customer requirements.
  • Creation of Purchase orders as requested by the Procurement team leader on specific suppliers.
  • Contacting the Suppliers as required and performing product enquiries, expediting, resolving any issues with suppliers to ensure delivery is kept on time.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and internal departments on purchasing processes.
  • The above includes raw material and subcontractor goods and any other items authorised by the Purchasing Team Leader
  • Prepare, raise and expedite purchase orders and order schedules, ensuring that compliant contracts are used whenever possible.
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
  • Relevant procurement / supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment

Aftersales:
Picking material for aftersales orders as per Parts Request Form daily updated by the Aftersales Department preparing and packing aftersales jobs to be sent on Next Day Courier and per post updating the Parts Request form to inform the Aftersales Departmentif and when the job has been sent out ordering products for aftersales jobs as and when required
Note - KPI and monitoring will be required monthly.
Note - Support is required in the month end stock check valuation.
