Description

The post holder will work closely with the patients and themultidisciplinary teams (MDT) to provide factually accurate, unbiased, evidence based nutritional advice appropriate to support haematology patients manage complex nutritional issues relating to their haematological condition and associated treatments.

The nutritional care plans are holistically developed with the patient, their family or carers and MDT utilising information from dietary assessments, biochemistry, medical history, treatment, psychosocial status and medications.

Dietetic treatment plans vary considerably and include food fortification advice, oral nutritional supplement prescribing, enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition.

The post-holder will be skilled in a range of dieteticknowledge, including food hygiene during neutropenic episodes, food allergy, food intolerance advice, drug-nutrient interactions with food supplements, modified diets for gastrointestinal disorders.


The post holder will be expected to act as an expert resource on cancer diet therapy and advise other dietitians and health care professionals on nutrition and dietetic matters and lead and provide training to other health professionals within and outside the Trust.

The post holder will help develop new service eg CAR-T and resources if required. The post holder will be involved/lead training of P1 and P2 dietitians as required.
