The BSL Teaching Assistant:


For this BSL Teaching Assistant role, you must have experience working as a BSL support worker or BSL Teaching Assistant, as this position will require you to hit the ground running.

You must hold a Level 3 BSL qualification and be able to demonstrate strong communication and learning support skills. It is important that you have good curriculum knowledge and can provide effective learning assistance.

The BSL Teaching Assistant Role:


As an BSL Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting a small number of learners across the school who are deaf or have hearing impairments.

You will be working with the class teacher to differentiate work to suit their level of ability and needs, and ensure the education of the pupils you are supporting is complete and representative of whole school life.

It is important that you build a strong rapport with the pupils you are supporting in order to make effective progress.


The School:
This large secondary school located in South Walsall caters for pupils in KS3 and KS4 with a mixed intake. There are several learners with hearing difficulties who you will be supporting. There is frequent CPD offered to ensure you are delivering a high quality education.
