Description
As a Portfolio Analyst, you'll support us to run Sainsbury's Tech with world class efficiency, giving us the understanding needed to continually deliver great technology for our customers, undertaking analysis and providing financial, people and portfolio value and process insight.
You'll have an eye for detail, continually looking for opportunities to improve and execute processes that deliver effective and efficient outcomes.
Together with the Portfolio Manager, you'll ensure we communicate key messages and emphasise risks and dependencies within the product teams and across the domain.
More about the role- You'll undertake analysis and provide Financial, People, Portfolio Value and Process Insight which is actionable, including periodic reporting for Product Councils, Forecast Reviews
- Interpretation and analysis of multiple data sources, and compilation into appropriate reports
- Where required, you'll improve process and reporting efficiency, and make appropriate recommendations to the Portfolio Manager
- Documentation and management, including document share storage management, signoff recording and archiving
- Planview time management reporting, including extracting reports for management and updating information where required
- Support the Product teams to ensure People forecasts are accurate
- Provide financial forecast excellence, from the initiative to the family level. This includes working with the teams to forecast people and nonpeople costs
- Bringing together a single view of cash (Opex and Capex) to ensure that the TCO is understood and decisions are being made, taking into account People, Capex and Opex
- Raise and receipt Purchase Orders; this includes management of work orders with 3rd party suppliers
- Demonstrate awareness of commitment to Sainsbury's colleague and company values, helping us make Sainsbury's a great place to work
- Provide a framework to facilitate recruitment, selection, onboarding, forecasting, offboarding of colleagues to the domain in line with workforce strategy
- You'll have knowledge of principles of working on large scale IT initiatives
- Knowledge of budget management and control principles
- Knowledge of retail processes and digital product development
- Experience in the use of reporting and project management tools including Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint, Oracle iSupplier and Planview
- Curiosity about technology and the role of portfolio management in running a Tech division and domain
- Strong analytical skills to analyse data from multiple sources to compile updates, and to make process recommendations and improvements
- You'll be a selfstarter with the ability to work independently and complete core activity with limited direction
- Ability to work with colleagues, bring groups together to discuss and solve problems, and collectively work out agreed ways to proceed
