Reporting of the Role:

This role reports to the Senior Publicity Manager


Overview of job:

Following an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a senior publicist to join the communications team.


As a Senior Publicist you'll generate high profile, impactful press coverage for Global's entertainment brands and initiatives, including Heart, Capital, Radio X, Official Big Top 40 by Global, Global Player, Global Original podcasts, Global's Make Some Noise and The Global Awards.

You'll be working with A-list talent on world famous brands in a wide and varied role.

Measures of success -

In the first few months, you would have:

  • Established yourself with the show producers for the brands you work on
  • Landed brilliant coverage in key titles
  • Built relationships at Global with key teams & talent
  • Made sure you're constantly keeping key media up to date with newslines and stories from the radio brands.

Responsibilities of the role:


  • You'll support the Senior Publicity Manager on publicity for Capital, Heart, Radio X and podcasts (with scope to shape your remit if you have a passion for a particular brand)
  • You'll work with the Senior Publicity Manager and Programming teams to generate ideas to drive coverage, and you'll respond quickly to show content to improve coverage
  • You'll work on publicity plans for, and media management at, some of Global's live events, from intimate gigs to Capital's Summertime and Jingle Bell Ball.
  • You'll lead the PR activity for your brands on the annual campaign for Global's charity, Global's Make Some Noise
  • You'll support the comms team in communications around our quarterly RAJAR results
  • You'll develop messaging and media materials such as press releases, media alerts
  • You'll coordinate and oversee photo shoots
  • Managing publicity budgets and raising POs
  • You'll build and nurture relationships with journalists at target media outlets and with key internal and external partners

What you will need

  • We are looking for an energetic and tenacious senior publicist with a track record of generating impactful PR coverage and delivering innovative publicity campaigns
  • A solid track record of music or entertainment publicity
  • Sociallysavvy and proficient in influencer relations
  • Positive relationships with journalists across print, online, broadcast and digital.
  • A keen eye for newlines and showbiz
  • High profile talent handling
  • Writing for media, and a strong network of media contacts
  • Working with different partners internally and externally
  • Multitasking and prioritising different demands
  • Live events experience is a bonus although not essential
