Description
Applications are invited for an Events and Communications Officer for the Human Infection Challenge Vaccine (HIC-Vac) Network.

You will provide high quality communications support (including Twitter, website and The Global Health Network site) and help design and deliver the HIC-Vac Annual Meeting and other events, as well as providing general administrative support for the Network.

A commitment to providing innovative and inspiring opportunities for people in the UK and LMIC (low and middle income country) settings to engage with HIC-Vac's work is essential, as is an understanding of how to be innovative across the digital communications landscape.

Vaccines are amongst the most practical and cost-effective ways of mitigating the impact of infectious disease, especially in Low and Middle Income countries (LMIC).

Although they already prevent many infections, new or improved vaccines are needed.

Human infection challenge (HIC) is an excellent way to expedite vaccine development, enabling vaccines to be tested at reduced cost while providing abundant information about disease pathogenesis and mechanisms of protection.

It is an exciting and growing field.
