Ensuring that the BMA negotiates on behalf of its members on pay and contractual matters is a critical function of the National Negotiations and Representation team, so too is ensuring that our national negotiating committees and internal structures work effectively and dynamically.

To be successful as a Senior Policy Adviser you'll have:

  • Previous experience in policy with the ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Excellent written skills with experience of drafting and presenting policy reports and briefings
  • Experience of initiating and taking forward work in relevant policy areas
  • Experience of providing project support
  • The ability to work flexibly and have the practical aptitude to think quickly and respond to demands in a positive manner
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to form strategic relationships across the organisation and with external contacts
  • Ability to challenge and respond constructively to policy proposals
