Job Description:

Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to work for a great employer based in the Haywards Heath, West Sussex area.

The Assistant Accountant will be part of the Finance team and be responsible for the processing of financial transactions within the production of the monthly management accounts, assist in regulatory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecastsetc.

The Assistant Accountant role is working on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

Location:
Hybrid working - 2 days office based

Salary:
£30-33K

Assistant Accountant duties include:

Process the transactional journals in the production of high quality and timely management accounts
Support the preparation of P&L trend financial performance analysis
Prepare period related balance sheet reconciliations
Cash flow forecasts
Maintain a period related balance sheet reconciliation schedule, detailing the balances with supporting evidence
Provide updates to the Financial Accountant of the intercompany position
Assist with ensuring all accruals, prepayments and ad hoc journals are processed
Support the Financial Accountant on all audits
Assist in the completion of VAT, Corporation Tax etc. when required

Skills and experience required:

Accounting experience, working in a similar Finance / Assistant Accountant type role
Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or Equivalent) or qualified by experience
Able to work well under pressure
Detail focused with strong organisation and planning skills
