About the role

Balfour Beatty have a fabulous opportunity for a
Store person/Material Controller join our
Rail Traction team to work at our offices in
Hillington, Glasgow.

Using advanced plant and machinery and unique innovations, we provide end-to-end solutions for our customers.

As a
Store person/Material Controller you will work in the stores department, keeping track of consumables and goods inward / outward for use in assembling electrical switchboards

Reporting to the Project Manager, the
Store person/Material Controller is required to be able to be IT literate and able to work as part of a team to keep the areas clean and tidy as well as the inventory up to date

What you'll be doing

Other key responsibilities will be:

  • Goods in receiving, ensuring any purchase order/physical delivery anomalies are highlighted and resolved.
  • Ensure the stock control system is managed, kept accurate with uptodate information, and reported along with visual management control in order to eliminate the risk of nonavailability
  • Stock Discrepancy Analysis.
  • Establish new suppliers as required.
  • Reviews levels of inventory to identify excess or obsolete material.
  • Manage stock taking and perpetual inventory counts as and when required.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies in material process flow.
  • Develop a close working relationship with Planning/Stock Yard, Manufacturing Team Leaders
  • Work with the Team Leaders to Implement and improve key performance indicators for

We are looking for the following:

  • Experience of working collaboratively within a team environment and meeting key manufacturing deadlines
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Possessing current and relevant knowledge of process stores best practice
  • Have a good understanding of Health and Safety and can maintain and safe and clean working environment
