The Green Dronfield is a purpose-built home providing care for up to 41 residents.Dronfield is a lovely old market town, situated close to the Pennines, just three miles from the Peak District National Park.
Our staff here at Dronfield strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents. We also have a CQC rating of 'Good'.We are searching for a dynamic and passionate Activities Coordinator with a commitment to working with older adults.
You would be required to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with occasional weekends for special events such as Mother's Day, Father's Day and certain weekend events will be required.
Reports to:
Registered Manager
Role Specific Duties:
- Organise and plan activity programmes reflecting Service User's preferences.
- Produce newsletters to inform Service Users and their relatives/friends what's going on.
- Support Service Users to access the internet and communications such as letter writing, Skype and FaceTime.
- Plan events within allocated budget.
- Ensure Service Users are at the heart of events and programmes to enhance their well being.
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support.
- Team player.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Friendly, creative and confident.
- Assist with fund raising and budgeting for entertainments, materials and outgoings.
- Assist Carers at mealtimes
Specific Requirement for Skills:
- To research activities and events, to support people to use the internet and produce colourful posters and newsletters.
- Activities Coordinators need to encourage people to attend or join an activity and motivate them and keep them engaged throughout the event.
- Activities Coordinators need to be able to speak clearly and passionately to people, answer questions and keep people motivated.
- Activities Coordinators need to be able to speak with a variety of different groups, listen to their needs and work with big groups.
- Activities Coordinators need to be able to fix situations quickly or adjust activities for all involved.
Salary:
Up to £10.90 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
