Overview:
We are seeking a Time served, skilled Traditional Lathe Turner (Centre Point Turner) to join our team.
As a Traditional Lathe Turner, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining traditional lathes to fabricate and shape various materials.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with precision.Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate traditional lathes to turn, bore, thread, and face materials
- Read and interpret drawings, and specifications
- Select appropriate tools and materials for each job
- Use hand tools to measure, mark, and cut materials
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should have the following skills:
- Proficiency in tooling for traditional lathe operations
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Strong mechanical knowledge of lathe operations
- Familiarity with hand tools used in lathe turning
- Ability to fabricate and shape materials according to specifications
- Experience in materials handling and proper storage techniques
- Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus
Pay:
£16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
