We have an ambitious programme of funding and recruitment to improve compliance and environmental outcomes in the sector, and we see good engagement as a vital tool in delivering that.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity and a strong belief in the value of engagement to help us work with the agriculture sector in the area.

Key areas of work will include:

Creating a proactive engagement strategy for the agriculture sector in West Midlands - identifying business and engagement objectives, analysing stakeholders, delivering engagement activities, and evaluating impact and outcomes.

Working closely with area agriculture team to understand their challenges and how engagement can support their work.
Embedding yourself with the team and enabling them to see engagement as an important tool in improving compliance.
Use the 'Working with Others' approach to engagement (training will be provided if needed) to inform how you work.

Working with DEFRA comms to develop a presence and voice for agriculture regulation on area (and national where appropriate) social media channels and in print and broadcast media.

Using stakeholder analysis to understand the needs, interests and influence of external partners and stakeholders.

Maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the Environment Agency as a regulator through all the engagement activity you carry out.

You'll have flexibility to choose which days and locations.

Be a clear and passionate communicator, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate at all levels.

Be able to troubleshoot tricky situations - by listening, reflecting and questioning the situation to understand the facts and find a resolution.
