Description
Fantastic opportunity for an equine apprentice at this beautiful yard in Newmarket. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in horse care. You will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our horses. All aspects of horse care will be covered, perfect for anyone looking to get into the industry. You can bring your own horse and there's also accommodation available 2 minutes from the yard.


Duties include:
Mucking out
Yard duties
Turning out
Tacking up
Assisting at competitions
Feeding
Assisting with young stock
Handling and care of competition horses
Helping with Livery clients/ horses
Good customer service skills are needed
Friendly
Reliable
Ambitious
Motivated
Flexible
Driven

QualificationsEnglish and maths GCSE's, or equivalents, are desired
Driving licence (desirable due to location or must have the means to travel to location)

Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care to be eligible for a level 2 apprenticeship, unless the employer will consider and can train for a level 3 senior groom.


Future ProspectsGain qualifications, attend shows and gain riding experience
Yard Manager / Equine Groom

TrainingFull training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship

The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
