An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Quality Assurance Specialist to join the Parenteral Services Unit team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Trust.

You will be joining a friendly and progressive department and we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.

You will join a team of Pharmacists and Technicians supervising and overseeing the department, implementing new developments and ideas and ensuring that current and future Good Manufacturing Practice and professional standards are achieved.


The role is based in the highly respected Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre in the Parenteral Services Unit, which is an aseptic unit providing chemotherapy to adult and paediatric services and parenteral nutrition to paediatrics and neonates under Section 10 of the Medicines Act.


To be responsible for the leadership of the Parenteral Services Unit technical team by supervising and co-ordinating technicians and assistants to ensure a safe, efficient and effective aseptic service.


To oversee Quality Assurance in the Parenteral Services Unit ensuring Quality Management activities are performed to a high standard so that aseptically prepared medicines are safe and fit for use.


To lead and support the unit's Quality Assurance team to ensure the necessary Quality Assurance and Quality Control tasks are performed effectively and to schedule.


To provide leadership and facilitate innovation in the planning and implementation of Quality related projects, continual development and improvements to the department and the aseptic service, including liaising with service users as well as external providers.
