Overview of the role
- new_cleo is driving forwards an exciting and challenging international programme to develop and deploy our innovative Lead-cooled Fast Reactor technology. Our Commercial team is reasonable for Procurement, Contract Management and Supply Chain Management and we are looking for highly motivated and pro-active Procurement / Commercial Co-ordinator to support the management and maintenance of our commercial processes and systems within the organisation and get involved in our exciting procurement and commercial management activities
You will work as part of the newcleo Commercial team and work closely with the Project Delivery team in the UK leveraging the talents and capabilities of our people across Europe to ensure alignment of commercial activities and approach.
The role will be focused on establishing a systematic approach to developing and maintaining our commercial systems, databases and information.
You will be involved in the development and building of the required systems and processes necessary to establish the essential formality, rigour and discipline to support the business discharge its obligations.
As newcleo is a start up company the role will require a hands on proactive approach, the individual must be comfortable with early stage programmes and have the ability to work with ambiguity and change and be able to build strong relationships with colleagues from across newcleo.
The role provides the opportunity for an individual to grow their capability and experience through supporting active procurement and contract management, working with the UK Procurement Manager and the UK Senior Commercial Manager with the opportunity to develop into a Procurement or Commercial Specialist in time.
Reporting Lines
The role will report directly to the Procurement Manager UK Operations as part of the UK Commercial Team, the role will also interface with the Senior Commercial Manager UK Operations and with the rest of the UK Operations team, particularly the UK Project Management Office (PMO) and finance teams.
Location
The role will be a mix of working from home and home office based in Manchester or South West of England.
In addition, there may be the need for occasional travel to our other UK office locations (London, Manchester and South West of England), France and Italy to support coordination with the other newcleo Commercial functions.
Main duties/role and responsibilities:
Contract Management / Commercial
- Maintenance of the Master Contracts List
- Providing accrual and invoicing support to Contract owner and the Senior Commercial Manager
- Active management of Application for Payment process to ensure adherence from the business
- Supporting Contract Management e.g. change control, progress updates and contract close out.
- Input to the development of the contract management system and maintenance of the system when deployed
- Maintenance of the Procurement Plan including working with the business to ensure requirements are properly understood
- Active Vendor Management through prequalification and maintenance of the companies ERP system
- Purchase Order (PO) raising and compliance
- Procurement of tactical areas including tendering, negotiation and contract placement
- Potential to procure more strategic areas as the individual develops
Attributes/ Experience Required
Experience
- Has at least a years experience of business administration
- Experience of working with ERP systems
Qualifications
Personal Attributes
- Strong organisation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with UK colleagues and the wider newcleo business
- Results focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Fluent written and spoken English. Language skills in French or Italian would be beneficial, but not essential.
Skills:
- Strong IT skills and use of Microsoft productivity products (word, excel etc.)
- The role will require the individual to achieve a national security clearance equivalent to a BPSS standard, or higher, within a reasonable period.
- Right to work in either UK and / or the EU.
