Description

Some key information

  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
  • This role is remote working around Somerset. Based out of Wellington, a work van will be provided.
  • Hours will be generally Monday to Friday, however, some out of hours and weekend working may be required.
  • This role will have opportunities for training and progression.

What will I be doing?
You'll be involved in the removal non-licenced asbestos and materials that contain asbestos.

This includes carrying out the removal itself, as well as reinstating appropriate materials, sampling, and re-inspecting properties.

It's a pretty important job, because you'll be helping to make our properties safe for tenants and the other trades that need to carry out work in them.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

You don't need experience - we're more than happy to give you the training you need and support you to get any certifications.

It will help if you have some experience in a relevant environment - perhaps you've worked on building sites, or as a labourer.

The main thing is that you're happy in a physical role that involves lifting things and clearing items (your friends might say you're the "practical" sort).

It'll be even better if you have some experience of dealing with hazardous waste - but like we said, that's not essential and we're happy to train you.

We're proud to be here for the people of Somerset. And that means everyone in Somerset.

An important part of this is ensuring that we are as diverse and inclusive as the people and communities we serve.

What's in it for me?

We are proud to offer an environment that is supportive and rewarding, working as part of a team who are passionate about the work they do to improve the lives of people in Somerset.

We offer great training and development opportunities, with supportive management.

As well as this, we have some fantastic employee benefits available:

  • We promote a healthy worklife balance and offer flexible working arrangements wherever possible, including working from home.
  • Generous annual leave allowance, with the opportunity to purchase additional leave
  • Staff discounts in gyms.
  • Employee Assistance for the times you may need some support and a variety of employee wellbeing services.
  • Auto enrolment onto our generous Pension Scheme and optional pension enhancement through our Additional Voluntary Contribution scheme.
  • A Flexible Benefits Scheme via salary sacrifice to obtain a cycle for work and health screenings.
  • My Staff Shop offering discounts in shops, online shopping, restaurants, cinema tickets, insurance benefits and more

Anything else I should know?
