The Women's and Children's Clinical Administration Unit is looking for an experienced part time (30 hours per week) Medical Secretary to work in their busy Gynaecology Department, based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Gynaecology knowledge would be desirable but is not essential. The role is to be spread over 4 days.


An understanding of the need for confidentiality and diplomacy is a must as well as excellent communication skills along with good audio typing speeds, accuracy and good knowledge of IT systems and medical terminology as well as a good telephone manner and being able to deal with sensitive calls.

Knowledge of Allscripts/ERS/RTTr/Cube would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.


The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust's core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs.

Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
