Hydrogeologist - Senior Consultant

Location - Darlington
My client, is seeking an experienced
Senior Hydrogeologistto join the Hydrology and hydrogeology department based in Darlington. You will be involved in a range of projects specialising in water resourcing and permitting legislation. Youwill be working on a range of projects, so working in a fast-paced environment is key.

You will be investigating and assessing risks within water quality and water resources, providing technical support to the environmental planning and permitting departments.


  • A post graduate degree level qualifications in either Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology, Catchment Management, Hydrology or similar.
  • Experience in writing hydrogeological impact assessments and water quality assessments.
  • Experience in environmental permitting and permitting legislation.
  • Practical and technical experience working for a UK based Consultancy.
  • Show confidence and aptitude to liaise with Clients to discuss project progress and complete fieldwork across sites across the UK.
  • Be able to plan and supervise site investigations.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • As the Senior Hydrogeologist you will be involved with all aspects of project work, spanning hydrogeology, water resources and environmental permitting.
  • You will be required to prepare deskbased studies, hydrogeological impact assessments and water resource assessments.
  • Planning and supervising site investigation work
  • Water framework directive assessments and hydrological assessments
  • Environmental Permitting.
  • Frequent Client meetings to discuss project progress.
