We are looking for a passionate Internal Communications Officer to join our corporate affairs team.

This role will support the internal communications manager with day-to-day employee engagement and help to coordinate our colleague activities with our charity and corporate partners.

This is a full time position and will be a hybrid role, reporting to the Internal Communications Manager.

The role is part of the Corporate Affairs team, which covers external and internal communications, social media and public affairs.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide comprehensive support to deliver engaging and effective internal communications across the organisation.
  • Coordinate and draft The Pulse, Starling's monthly staff newsletter and organisationwide updates via Slack
  • Manage the relevant Slack channels and respond to queries on a timely basis
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other Comms colleagues to align/adapt internal communications content as appropriate.
  • Coordinate internal events, partnership webinars and fundraising activities across all Starling's offices
  • Support the D&I forum (Always Open) and the environmental committee (Green Shoots) with copywriting and event management
  • Support the delivery of key programmes and initiatives, including scheduling volunteering opportunities and managing the allocation of charity places at sporting events
  • Actively maintain relationships with partner stakeholders, including coordinating and scheduling meetings
  • Maintain accurate data relating to fundraising totals and volunteering
  • Work closely with the internal communications manager to create an annual internal event calendar
  • Always look for new ways we can communicate to our colleagues, ensuring this in a way they like to digest information aiding engagement. Helping the team to innovate and develop its communication methods

Requirements:


  • Organised individual who likes to plan ahead, but can also think on their feet and move quickly where required
  • Not afraid to ask questions and contribute ideas
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written) with a keen eye for attention to detail
  • Creative and resourceful, with a keen interest in driving bestinclass communications
  • Strong administrative skills
  • 3+ years experience in IC/employee engagement either agency or inhouse
