Job summary:
The Army employs around 8,000 MOD Civil Servants across 300 locations.
It is a diverse workforce involved in supporting the Army deliver its core outputs across a variety of functions and professions.
It covers a vast range of roles from teachers, kennel assistants and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers and policy secretariat staff.
The Army's Civilian Workforce Team (CWT) works to build a more engaged, inclusive and productive civilian workforce which is better led, invested in and recognised through the Army's chain of command.
Through the Army People Plan, a greater emphasis is being placed on taking a more strategic approach to managing our people, both military and civilian, and exploiting the professional skills and experience the Civil Service can offer as part of the Army's whole force workforce.
With a greater focus on routine workforce planning and improvements to our approach to resourcing the TLB is seeking to take a more innovative approach to achieving its workforce capabilities and skills requirements in support of delivering the Army's outputs.

Job description:
The Executive Officer post will work as part of the team in support the Civilian Workforce Team (CWT) work programme.
As a key component of the Ministry of Defence's wider Civil Service HR function, the Civilian Workforce Team plays a crucial role in influencing and implementing wider Departmental Civil Service policy and business processes as well as opportunities for transformation under the Modernising Defence Programme and areas for reform in keeping with the Civil Service Reform Agenda.
Working alongside our Strategic HR Business Partners, as well as other stakeholders, the post holder will build insights of the MOD with opportunities to work across the wider Army civilian workforce and MOD HR community which will provide valuable foundations for a career in HR.
Person specification:
Responsibilities of the role include:
- With the support of the team, be willing to complete an HR Level 3/5 HR Apprenticeship.
- Support the team and assist the wider business with recruitment processes and requirements to attract talent to the Army's civilian workforce.
- Supporting the Strategic Planning team's management of information by producing and analysing data about the Army's Civilian Workforce.
- Coordinate events to bring together the Army's HR community of practice.
- Support the wider team in other core HR areas.
Essential Criteria:
- Level 3/5 HR Apprenticeship or Qualification OR be willing to complete if not already held.
- To be able to support multiple delivery demands at pace
- Be able to work confidently with stakeholders to keep up with demand
- Good interpersonal skills
- Be organised and efficient
- Confident with Share Point and Microsoft programmes
