Jonathan Lee Recruitment is looking for a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer and a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for a Global Marine company based in Kent, the job details and requirments are below:

Responsibilities:

Assess new technologies and techniques relevant to current or planned company products and make recommendations for inclusion in future design and development or cost reduction programmes.
Take a leading role in the concept development phase of new products, organising meetings and initial engineering activities as necessary to develop the specifications and design approaches in conjunction with the Chief Technical Officer and developmentteam.
In conjunction with the Chief Technical Officer, work closely with the Project Manager, to ensure that their projects are adequately supported from a technical consultancy aspect and act as a Project Manager on projects where required.
Derive software development and test requirements from given system level requirements.
Analyse software requirements to determine feasibility of design within performance, time and cost constraints.
Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational requirements of overall system
Disciplined understanding and experience with SW development techniques, testing, and documentation

Experience Requirements

Proven experience of taking the technical lead within Research and Development teams.
Proven experience in leading the firmware Design & Development of embedded microcontroller products.
Hands on experience programming with Microsoft Visual Studio and microprocessor development systems.
Experience with developing embedded SW for DSP, ARM, TI, uPic microcontrollers.
Familiar with graphical software design, experience with developing embedded graphical mapping engine SW a plus.
Experience with automated test systems for manufacturing a plus.
Experience with RF communications systems and marine navigation a plus.
Experience of developing 'white papers' to support R&D feasibility studies and concept development. Developing papers to lead, influence and steer the development of International & National Specification Standards.
