Part-time: 2-5pm Monday - Friday (32 weeks a year, term time)
£21,673 (Pro Rata)
Summary:
- To act as Receptionist for the school.
- To provide admin support for the school.
- To act as an ambassador for both the School and the Headmaster in all matters.
What you'll be doing day to day:
- Provision of receptionist function for the school.
- Meeting and greeting all visitors and ensuring correct procedures are followed.
- Completing morning registration and fire lists.
- Provision of administrative support to routine operations of the school.
- Maintaining a tidy reception area including the North Hall and entrance area to the school.
- In addition to the above duties, the Receptionist is a member of the wider support staff and is thus expected to be a team player who will assist other administrative staff during busy periods.
Requirements:
- Build and maintain knowledge of pupils, staff, parents and other regular visitors to the school.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of school routines and forthcoming events.
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with governors, staff, present and prospective parents, pupils and external bodies.
- An upbeat and dynamic approach to work; a genuine liking for working in a hectic and fast paced environment.
- Ability to retain a calm authoritative manner at all times allied with the ability to manage a broad range of issues; prioritising effectively when under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Tenacity in gathering and collating information and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Good team worker, willing to assist and provide backup to others.
- Loyalty to the Headmaster and the school.
- Good sense of humour.
Skills:
- Skilled in operation of computer packages, small switchboard and multifunction devices.
- Skilled in use of School MIS.
- High standard of keyboard skills.
- Skilled in use of tact and diplomacy, able to communicate effectively with both children and adults.
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritising tasks.
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to be selfreflective and learn from experience.
