Deputy grounds person Open spaces £25,409, Generous Pension. 33 days holiday, Monday-Friday with the occasional weekend and evening to be worked over 37 hours.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as a deputy grounds person manager to work alongside the operations manager to oversee the open spaces and cemeteries that are managed and maintained by the local council in Devizes.

A varied and interesting position where no two days are the same.

The deputy grounds person operational manager will be responsible in the absence of the operational manager to deal with customer complaints and deal effectively within a 24 hour time frame.

The main responsibilities will include:

To assist in the safe installation, dismantling and storage of festive light displays.
Ensure that health and safety records are maintained and any incidents are reported immediately to the Town clerk.
Risk assessments are carried out and COSHH sheets are accurate.

Responsible for the ordering and supply of equipment such as plants, horticultural and general materials and to stay within agreed budget.

To support the efficient operation of the councils open spaces service.
Assist in the design and delivery of all aspects of the Towns floral displays.
Support the operations manager to ensure that agreed service standards are achieved at all times.

If you have previous management experience with a background in grounds work or maintenance then we would like to hear from you.

This is a diverse and challenging role that requires the up most attention to detail. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
