The salary for this position is £36,282 - £40,146 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.

To support collaborative working, we also endeavour to regularly work together at a council site.

Reflecting our commitment to employee wellbeing, the team support each other to stay healthy and resilient, and we have recently established a facilitated reflective practice group to provide ourselves with a safe space where we can discuss some of the more complex and difficult work we can be involved in.


The Team


Shortlisted for the 2021 Personnel Today Health and Wellbeing - Public Sector award, we are committed to continuing to improve the service we offer to our colleagues, and work collaboratively with partner organisations to enable our work to be as effective and impactful as possible.


Supported by our network of Wellbeing Champions and First Aiders for Mental Health, over the next year, the Employee Experience Team will continue to focus on evidence based and trauma informed wellbeing measures, including our workplace wellbeing programme, gender specific health and wellbeing issues, mental health and financial wellbeing.

This work sits alongside our workforce diversity and inclusion plans, which include supporting the development of our Staff Networks, commissioning and co-ordinating three workforce reviews to find out more about the experience of disabled, minority ethnic and LGBTQ+ staff and commissioning EDI training which will support the council's aim to be a more inclusive and compassionate organisation.


The Role


As an Employee Wellbeing Consultant, you will be able to show demonstrable commitment to inclusive and compassionate wellbeing in the workplace, an understanding of the most common wellbeing challenges that colleagues experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Whilst in this role, there is no 'typical' work day, you can expect to be providing wellbeing advice and signposting to staff and managers, project managing initiatives such as our plans for men's health, designing high impact communications and promoting national wellbeing awareness campaigns.


Here are the qualities, skills & experiences we are looking for in an Employee Wellbeing Consultant:

  • An understanding of the most prevalent workplace wellbeing issues
  • Experience of participating in health promotion/awareness campaigns
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, both face to face and online groups
  • An ability to analyse data and information
  • An ability to implement wellbeing programmes in an inclusive, innovative and accessible ways
