Description

Spectrum IT are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to a join a client in the Wimborne (Greater Bournemouth area) to provide hands on Wintel systems and M365 support.

This is an initial 3 month contract, with onsite working 5 days per week and has been deemed Inside IR35.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide 2nd line IT support to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to Wintel systems Microsoft 365, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.
  • Collaborate with 1st line support technicians to provide timely and accurate solutions to endusers.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system faults, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Manage and administer Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, security settings, and access controls.
  • Monitor and maintain DNS and DHCP services, ensuring efficient and reliable network connectivity.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and installations as necessary to maintain optimal system performance and security.
  • Support Hyper V servers

Skills / Experience:


  • Proven experience in a Contract 2nd line IT support role
  • Extensive Wintel systems, experience


  • Microsoft 36

  • Active Directory and Group Policy experience
  • Solid understanding of DNS and DHCP protocols, including configuration and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and server administration (Hyper V)
