This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Maintenance Inspector to join our dedicated team of property professionals in providing a comprehensive, responsive housing repair service.

As one of four Maintenance Officers responsible for repair inspections, building pathology and defect diagnosis you will have a strong technical background in construction and experience in damp and mould diagnosis and remedy, preferably within the social housing sector.


What will my day look like?


You will attend property inspection requests within timescales set, liaising with Customers, other housing staff and property professionals to diagnose defects and building pathology and report defects that warrant action in accordance with the Council's Maintenance and Repair Policy as well as the post inspection of work carried out by our in-house staff and sub-contractors.


You will carry out proactive and preventative visits and inspections to mitigate against the risk of damp and mould and have a good understanding of technical terms and damp and mould diagnosis including cause, effect and remedy covering leaks, rising and penetrating damp, cold bridging and condensation.


You will also positively engage and provide education to tenants on helpful ways of reducing condensation and mould in their homes You will inspect empty homes and provide written reports on outcome standards, including HSSRS detailing schedules of necessary works to bring the property up to the required lettable standard.


You will undertake regular cyclical maintenance inspections of Council housing blocks, estates and communal shared facilities, providing inspection records and reporting any safety defects or maintenance work identified.
