Senior Product Manager - Market Reporting & Trading Solutions - Metals

The Team:


We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Product Manager to join the S&P Global Commodity Insights Product Management organization within the Market Reporting & Trading Solutions business line.

The role is focused on the product management and development of MRTS related customer solutions serving the Metals Commodity sectors.

We work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand and ensure the delivery of products that meet customer needs and aligns with business strategy.

This includes the management and development of offerings on web, mobile apps, digital data feeds and excel plug-in's.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional product team to develop and maintain product roadmaps & ensure that we are developing effective solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:


You are responsible for developing and executing on product strategies, ultimately driving revenue by meeting the needs of current clients, displacing competitors, penetrating new markets, solving new problems, or selling to new client bases.

In this role you will work with different business functions such as sales, client services, content, operations, technology, and marketing to develop and execute the business roadmap to deliver value and solve problems for customers.

In addition to this, you will collaborate with other business lines to ensure there is strategic alignment across pricing and analytics.

- Lead the development and execution of the roadmap for the Metals products and solutions, present future enhancements to senior management and advocate for resources

  • Create, maintain, and prioritize a product development backlog according to customer demand, business value or ROI
  • Attend regular meetings with technology teams to discuss progress and take the appropriate actions to drive delivery
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers to build a deep understanding of their needs, workflows, and problems.
  • Define success metrics and analyze customer feedback and product usage to inform business decisions and prioritize the product roadmap
  • Leverage usage data and established KPIs to report on business performance across commodities, content types, and sellable packages
  • Develop and execute on gotomarket plans for product launches and enhancements
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Product organization and crossfunctional stakeholders within the S&P Global business in a highly matrixed environment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance and standardize reference data to further embed Market Data in customer workflows

What we're looking for:


  • 5+ year experience as a product manager or product owner, preferably at a commodity information, or financial technology company
  • Proven track record of creating product roadmaps and executing against these roadmaps incrementally and sustainably
  • Ability to independently manage workload in a fast paced, goal oriented, dynamic and global environment.
  • Experience influencing without authority and managing a diverse sets of stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and have very strong presentation skills
  • A quick learner, showing aptitude to quickly pick up the fundamentals of commodity markets, customerfacing solutions, and company processes
  • Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestly with customers and deliver positive experience by creating a partnership mentality
  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to work with many stakeholders and take product from concept to reality
  • Experience in or knowledge of Price Reporting Agencies
  • Experience in developing digital customer facing products, following Agile Scrum practices preferred
  • Experience working in/workflows of relevant environments, such as commodity trading (front desk, trade support, risk), market analysis (decision support), analytical tool development and management
  • Metals preferred.
  • Experience in or knowledge of Metals or other commodity markets, trade flows and supply chains.
