Assistant Buyer - Drylining

Fawkes & Reece are currently assisting in the search for an Assistant Buyer to join a reputable dry-lining sub-contractor based in Andover.

The business is one which operates across various sectors including volume house building and care homes with notable principle contractors.

This role would suit either a Buyer with some experience in the role or someone with a mathematics background who's looking to get into Buying.

As Assistant Buyer, your duties will include but not be limited to:

Ensure materials are delivered to sites in line with site programmes and specification, and are purchased at competitive prices.
Maintain an up to date library of standard house type material schedules.
Produce & maintain accurate site specific material schedules and process material orders.
Monitor material order values against budget values and address large variations with the Regional Buying Manager
Ensure the tender process is adhered to for all new sites in line with the regions tendering/procurement policy.
Continually monitor price agreements to ensure they always remain competitive.
Continually monitor supplier performance and hold regular meetings with main suppliers.
Process site purchase orders for replacement materials and produce monthly reports detailing expenditure.
Ensure the invoice checking procedure is being carried out and where necessary negotiate credits

The ideal Assistant Buyer will have:

A minimum of maths and english GCSE
Live within commutable distance to Andover
Worked in the construction industry (not necessarily in the Buying role)
