About The Role:


Restructuring & Insolvency

Office based/Hybrid (4-5 days office) - London | Full time |

Role Purpose:


Reporting to the Legal Support Manager (LSM) and working as part of the wider R&I hub, you will provide business support to the fee earners within the London office and other locations as directed by the LSM.


Duties:


Billing

  • Assist with the preparation of all financial transactions as required.

File Management

  • Support with file opening, file closing and file reviews including monthly Lexcel reviews.
  • Support with the review and closure of historical physical files.
  • Prepare and complete (including conflict checks) the matter opening form, ensuring that the relevant fee earner completes the parts outside the remit of your role.
  • Supporting with compliance checks where requested.
  • Any other administrative tasks which may be required

Client Care

  • Front facing resource for the team and first point of contact for clients, taking telephone calls/messages and directing as required.
  • Accurate attendance notes of any calls and meetings
  • Supporting with the organisation of client meetings
  • Ensure that meeting rooms are prepared for client meetings
  • Meet and greet clients when they attend the office.

Team Support

  • First point of contact for any administrative and business support requirements for fee earners including copying, scanning or the preparation of court paperwork/bundles.
  • Assist the LSM with the management of the team inbox and bighand, carrying out tasks as delegated which could include drafting letters or other documents for all fee earners in the team.
  • Completing expenses for fee earners in a timely manner
  • Proactive diary management for fee earners where appropriate
  • Ensuring the team adheres to the firm's clear desk policy, organising files and paperwork as necessary
  • Other administrative duties as may be required
  • Supporting the LSM with administrative marketing tasks for R&I events.

Skills

  • You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail in all aspects of your work
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • High levels of resilience and the ability to complete tasks against tight deadlines.
  • Able to prioritise tasks allocated by LSM.
  • Able to work as part of a team but also under own direction to achieve desired results.
  • You will be results focused and proactive in your approach to work.
  • Have a positive 'cando' attitude, willing to be hands on and do what is needed in order to achieve results
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft apps and/or legal software.

Knowledge

  • Have a broad knowledge of administrative tasks in legal practices.
  • Understanding of legal terminology
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of IT skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Have a genuine interest in our clients focusing on absolute client service.

Experience

  • Experience within a legal environment / professional services environment
  • Strong legal administration experience
  • Experience in case management systems
  • You will have experience of working in a client facing environment.
