Our Profession Mission:


To deliver SL's legal obligations in achieving the mission of delivering a clean and safe environment for future generations, through the development and management of nuclear safety cases.


You will provide SME level support for activities which are broad in scope, in a technically challenging environment, in which you will be able to work cross functionally spanning engineering, pre-operations, commissioning and operations - this is a unique opportunity to influence, change and shape things for the future of HF at Sellafield and beyond for future missions.


The role compliments the HF Team Leader (Non-Specialist) by providing technical leadership; acting as the primary technical authority with respect to the discharge of intelligent customer/client responsibilities, supporting the HF Lead in leading and shaping capability development, and the development and maintenance of process and methods both internal to SL and within the wider industry.


To thrive is this role you will need:

  • BSc in Psychology/Ergonomics/Human Factors.
  • Significant previous experience as a HF Assessor / Specialist in appropriate high hazard industry setting managing delivery of significant HF deliverables.
  • Significant experience and understanding of UK regulatory environment and relevant legislation
  • HASAWA, Management of H&S at Work Regulations, Nuclear Installations Act, IRR.
  • Experience of dealing with internal and external stakeholders and regulators.

The following is also desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Sellafield Ltd site, hazards posed, organisational structure, and processes.
