Responsibilities:

Full management of Production Purchasing function within the business, while constantly reviewing efficiencies
Continuously analyse supplier performance
To conduct steel procurement activities (buying steel beams, columns, hollow section, consumables etc)
To negotiate cost and lead time reductions with suppliers
Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new suppliers
To liaise and organise steel deliveries into our manufacturing partners
Manage shortage avoidance

Job Requirements:

Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at once
Experience of purchasing within the Structural Steel industry essential
Contacts within the Steel industry preferred
Good understanding of fabrication methods, specifications, and the ability to read, understand and measure drawings
Proficiency in MS Office 365, including Work, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint etc
Experience with raising purchase orders
Strong negotiation skills
Confident at dealing with payment terms and invoices
Be cost aware and conscious
Hold a valid driving licence
Be willing to travel nationwide to meet suppliers
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Friendly personality with a 'can do' attitude
