About the Role
Our client is a fully independent Challenger Bank with established track record, proposition, footprint & liabilities/lending book.

Due to continued growth they have a brand-new role for an experienced Relationship Manager with a background in Deposits Ttacquire, manage and maintain a portfolio of commercial and charity banking relationships.


As the
Relationship Manager - Depositsyou will act as an ambassador for the Bank in the external community by establishing, maintaining and growing relationships with key sector organisations and professional intermediaries to support achievementof the Bank's business objectives.

Responsibilities of the
Relationship Manager - Deposits
As the
Relationship Manager - Depositsyour responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Delivery of volumetric and financial objectives as set out in the business plan in place from time to time to achieve planned Bank business performance.
  • To develop and maintain: A network of introducers; Presence on deposit focused panels; A 'shadow portfolio' of target depositors.
  • Develop and grow the Bank's depositor and 'large organisation' current account customer base through the acquisition of new customers that align with the bank's values.
  • Broaden and deepen customer relationships within the existing portfolio to optimise income earning opportunities and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of deposit and current account customers to ensure customer satisfaction and timely identification and mitigation of key risks.
  • To provide specialist support to the Customer First and Commercial Banking teams to assist in the development of new products and services and procedures to enhance and improve the customer experience with the bank
  • Coordinate with colleagues within the treasury function to ensure liquidity strategies are aligned.
  • To lead and have management responsibility for others as required by the team structure from time

About You

Skills and Competencies of the Relationship Manager - Deposits role:

  • Extensive Business Development and Relationship Management skills within a Commercial Banking function
  • Operational knowledge of bank processes and key regulatory/legal issues
  • Understanding of common short and long term deposit options of competitors

Knowledge & Experience of the Relationship Manager - Deposits role

  • Proven track record in developing quality business
  • Proven track record in relationship managing a deposits and larger current account focused commercial banking portfolio
  • Selfstarter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Complex account opening, including larger charities
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management
