Role Description:
About the Role
The primary objective of this role is to provide versatile support and leadership for the implementation and management of the explosive licensing activities and the legislative compliance and safe conduct of explosives activities within the Centre for Defence Chemistry (CfDC) laboratories and wider CDS requirements.
This crucial role entails actively managing the oversight of safe operating procedures for staff, students and contractors engaged in research and teaching related to explosives in accordance with legislation and safe practice as well as maintenance and upkeep of explosive facilities.
About You
You will hold a PhD in safety / chemistry / engineering and a teaching qualification (PGCert in Academic Practice or equivalent and/or Membership of Higher Education Academy) or willingness to undertake FHEA.
You will have practical experience in an explosives, HazMat or chemicals laboratory and experience of delivering explosive demonstrations to enhance theoretical problems.
Membership of relevant professional bodies for example NEBOSH is desirable.About Us
