The Role

Oakdale has recently enjoyed a period of growth and taken on several new commissions.

Our multi-disciplinary team is now engaged in a number of collaborations with the NHS, supporting local CAMHS services and offering a Neurodevelopmental Assessment service to children of families who are referred to us by our NHS partners or who contact Oakdale directly.


As a result, we are seeking to recruit Qualified Clinical Psychologists (NHS band 7 equivalent posts) to join our team, and can offer varied and rewarding work in a number of contexts - with an opportunity to help us shape and deliver our much needed and valued services.


We are keen to hear from qualified psychologists who are interested in working with children,young people and adults and would like to be part of Oakdale.

Oakdale is an agile organisation able to offer full or part time employed roles. Flexible hours are possible, including daytime, evening and Saturday work.

  • Providing a range of psychological interventions for children, young people, adults and families
  • To be responsible for assessments (including risk assessments), formulation and recommendations for psychological support for your own caseload
  • Formulation and delivery of care plans involving psychological treatment and management of cases
  • To implement a range of evidencebased psychological interventions, making evaluations and decisions about treatment options, and monitoring outcomes to ensure effectiveness for your own caseload as well as supporting/supervising Psychologists and other practitioners in relation to their caseload
  • Interpretation and integration of psychological data for different Oakdale services to inform care provision including selfreport measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semistructured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care
  • To participate in making evidencebased recommendations to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, interventions and skills required to deliver the plan of care and expected health/social outcomes whilst also minimising risk
  • To provide all clinical assessments and interventions in line with Oakdale's policies and operating procedures
  • To maintain adherence to NICE guidelines and Oakdale's clinical standards
  • To attend and contribute to appropriate multidisciplinary meetings and reviews
  • To maintain accurate case records on Oakdale's case management system, including clinical observations, clinical notes, tests and other associated data according to Oakdale's operating procedures
  • To participate in regular clinical supervision
  • To participate in service development initiatives
Person Specification


Essential:

  • Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration
  • A working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation
  • Experience / knowledge of routine clinical outcomes monitoring
  • Experience / knowledge of clinical risk assessment
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to use a computer competently, with a broad base of IT skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload
  • Strong literacy and report writing skills, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience of delivering specialist assessments in Autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, complex needs and/or challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge of developmental trauma and in supporting families with children who are looked after/adopted
Salary


Salary:
Equivalent to NHS Band 7 (£40,000+ depending on skills and experience) with stakeholder pension

Location & Hours

Full and part time opportunities available.

Hours by agreement.

Based in Leeds, Halifax or Harrogate with some remote working possible.
