Job description:

The Media Producer is responsible for creating engaging digital content and managing the Media Content Creator.

The content produced is used across the Agency's existing, new and emerging internal and external channels, such as websites, social media and at events.

It helps raise awareness of our safety messaging and the various roles of the agency.


The successful role holder will ensure that all content published on our platforms is accessible to a wide range of audiences.

By utilising organisational and creative skills they will deliver projects from initial brief through to final completion with support from the Media Content Manager.


Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Capture and create clear, engaging, and shareable content, with emphasis on video, photography and animation for use across the MCA's internal and external digital channels
  • at speed and to quality, while ensuring brand compliance and narrative.
  • Manage the video archive, identifying gaps, creating and acting upon opportunities to gather content which would be beneficial to the wider organisation. Ensuring that all material is appropriately archived and complies with GDPR.
  • Provide support to the Communications Team to help promote the work of the Agency's brands while protecting and enhancing its reputation.
  • Work with the Social Media Executive, Marketing and Press colleagues to carry out project evaluations to identify how to maximise future opportunities.
  • Manage the Media Content Creator, motivate them and help them develop skills and for fill their potential.

Person specification:


  • To succeed in this role, you have experience in videography and creating a range of visual content for multiple platforms.
  • You can demonstrate experience of filming, video editing, animation and design software (Adobe Suite/Final Cut).
  • You have a proven ability to effectively build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You enjoy promoting collaborative ways of working, to drive continuous improvements and keep all parties informed and up to date.
  • You can demonstrate creativity and are passionate about creating engaging digital content.

Additional Information
This role will be based in the Southampton HQ.

MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.


The expectation is that you will spend a minimum
60% of your working time based at your principal workplace
or out on official business.

Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

There will be frequent UK travel, including overnight stays on occasions as part of this role.
