We have a fantastic opportunity for a Land Manager to join a growing team in Kent.The focus is buying land where there is a need for homes, where people want to live and where they believe have a realistic chance of securing planning permission.
Land is the critical 'raw material' for a housebuilder, so the client will focus on purchasing the right sites in the right locations.
As a Land Manager, you will play a key role in this journey holding responsibility for undertaking land purchase exercises,monitoring land market activities and advising on planning policies that impact potential sites.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and experienced team of professionals where you will work alongside the Director and the pre-Development Team to identifying and making land acquisitions all the way through the pre-development process.
KEY DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Your daily tasks and responsibilities will include;
- Build and maintain relationships with local contacts to ensure uptodate knowledge on current and future market opportunities as well as continually monitoring competitor activity
- Prepare appropriate briefs for architects
- Collate build costs, market research and local planning policy information to successfully negotiate terms for land acquisition
- Consider health and safety issues for any potential new sites and prepare and obtain the necessary approvals to ensure land purchase exercise information is provided accurately and on time
- Work with the technical team to design economically and understand the commercial aspects of design decisions
- Supporting the production of presentations and information packages for use at internal meetings and public events/consultations and planning committees
- Supporting the coordination of face to face or virtual project management and operational meetings with the preDevelopment and Management Team
- Providing support to the Development Director to provide feedback and advice to the progress of land bids
- Supporting the Development Director in the process of preparing Board Papers and updating the Management team on all land supply and land acquisition activity
- Updating the Land Supply Schedule to ensure all working and project files are maintained and are up to date
- Work with Affordable Housing partners to identify and lead exit strategies for Section 106 disposals
