About the role:


The full-time, independent Manager Research Team (MRT) at Redington is responsible for identifying and researching the best investment managers from around the world for the firm's broad range of clients.

With a high conviction, unconflicted approach, the team's philosophy is to select just a handful of managers per asset class.


The Private Credit Research function within the broader Private Markets Research team is responsible for researching, selecting and monitoring asset managers across Direct Lending, Alternative Credit strategies, Distressed, Commercial Real Estate and Infrastructure Debt, Private Placements and ILS.

As the asset classes continue to evolve, the Private Markets Research team acts as thought leaders to evaluate attractive investment opportunities and deliver advice to clients.


This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of the Private Markets team, contributing to research across Private Markets as a whole, and initially taking primary responsibility for the Private Credit strategies, researching new managers and evolving market themes, monitoring existing rated managers and delivering bespoke client projects.

As a member of our MRT team, you'll be responsible for:

  • The Preferred List process
  • identifying and screening the relevant manager universe, meeting and selecting the best available managers, preparing and presenting the materials for approval by the firm's Investment Strategy Committee (ISC).
  • Articulating the asset class level opportunities and manager selection decisions made internally, particularly to the Investment Consulting (IC) team, as well as clients and prospects, such that the research is used by our clients to invest and enhance their portfolios.
  • Manager monitoring and followup searches in Private Credit, identifying issues with existing allocations, liaising with managers regarding performance or risk concerns, and developing an opinion.
  • Writing updates for and articulating decisions made to the ISC, IC and clients covering manager, market, and regulatory developments.
  • Contributing to bespoke client requests for manager searches or reviews. Conduct investment due diligence on behalf of clients including, recommendations, and presentations to clients, with ultimate responsibility on the quality of the analysis and recommendations.
  • Contributing to thought leadership and continuous improvement of the manager universe within Private Markets as a whole, incorporating reviews of new trends in the market.

Qualifications:


This role is for you if you have

  • A background in Private Credit, such as manager research, analyst/PM or product specialist at an investment consultancy, asset manager or inhouse team of an asset owner.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • A team player with a desire to contribute to idea generation and the confidence to express opinions.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Selfstarter who takes the initiative in research and leads research meetings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

It would be great if you also had**- 2-5 years' industry experience (across any team)

  • Clientfacing experience
  • CFA / CAIA
