Description

The post holder will have technical, managerial and supervisory control over subordinate staff and specialist contractors, working within the speciality of Electrical Engineering.


The primary objectives of this position are to ensure that planned preventative and reactive maintenance work, undertaken by in-house maintenance staff and specialist contractors, are provided within predesignated time spans at competitive cost and providing technical input, as required, to ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and legislation.

To minimise disruption to the running of hospital departments.


To manage and arrange shutdowns, connections and adaptations to specialised hospital services which facilitate progress on major capital schemes and minor schemes of a more complex work content.

Carrying out estimates for works and working within defined budgets. Acting as authorised persons for specialist services when appropriate.

There is a requirement within this role to work overtime and on call.
