Software Engineering Manager


LOCATION:
Leeds (1 to 2 days a week)

Are you an Inspiring, passionate and driven software engineering leader?


Working closely with the CEO and the senior leadership team, we are looking for an inspirational tech leader, accountable for the operational excellence of software engineering for B2C and B2B products whilst leading a multi-disciplinary team of architects,software and test engineers.


Key responsibilities:


  • Develop, mentor, and recruit engineering talent on behalf of the business
  • Inspire and lead from the front and be willing to push boundaries.
  • Ensure you are abiding by the company's core principles/ethos and are providing the team with an exemplary figure to look up to.
  • Remain empathetic towards peoples needs and ensure you are providing individuals with a work environment that promotes workplace productivity.

Who are we looking for?


An engineer at heart, you will be highly focused on delivery, will love mentoring and driving teams of engineers, and want to take a leading role in driving & building a super charged team.

To be considered, ideally you'll have experience working within HealthTech (i.e.

NHS, Local authorities, Pharma) and we'll be looking for you to offer experience in:


  • Leading and managing autonomous product engineering teams developing cloudbased services, backend, frontend and mobile apps
  • Experience with modern web/cloud native technologies, frameworks and platforms (e.g. Java, Javascript,.NET) and being able to evaluate the required deliverable to select the right technology
  • Demonstrable background in CI/CD and building your own code from build through to deployment, production support and monitoring.
  • Extensive experience working in a cloud native environment (Azure and AWS desirable)
  • Expertise in containerised and/or serverless technologies
  • Attracting, retaining and developing engineering talent
  • Coaching engineers of all levels on a daytoday basis
  • Championing automated build and deployment with continuous integration
