Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate to join Sheffield's Translational Neuro-Oncology Research Group led by Dr. Spencer Collis (Science), Mr. Ola Rominiyi (Translational) and Mr.

Yahia Al-Tamimi (Clinical) based within the Department of Oncology and Metabolism at the University of Sheffield's Medical School as part of a collaborative research project with Dr.

Katherine Finegan (University of Manchester).


We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work on a LifeArc Pathfinder funded proof-of-concept pilot project in translational brain tumour research.

The aim of the study is nbased on some of our recent published data and aims to assess the efficacy of combining novel ERK5-targeting compounds with current standard of care (SoC) Temozolomide chemotherapy for high-grade gliomas which is used to treat these currently incurable tumours.

Specifically, this work will utilise our unique 3D patient-derived primary glioma stem cell-like (GSC) culture models that represent inter-patient, intra-tumoral heterogeneity and post-surgical/residual disease.

This post is currently fixed term for 1 year.
