About The Role


An exciting opportunity to join a progressive housing service with a clear focus to improve the quality of services to tenants and leaseholders.


You will be part of a new leadership team pursuing a mandate to be the best local housing authority in the country.

You will be grounded in the Leasehold/ Homeownership arena evidenced through your track record.

A sound understanding of the legislation governing this area is key as well as financial acumen to ensure that we meet our statutory obligations and maximise service charge income.


About The Team You'll Be Working In
You will have direct responsibility for two Service Managers:

  • Leasehold Manager
  • Homeownership Manager
And indirect responsibility for circa 30 staff involved in all areas of leasehold/ homeownership services.

Working with your team you strive to make Hounslow a "Go To "authority renowned for excellence in this area.


About You
Significant senior management experience in leasehold management and homeownership arena


Extensive knowledge of the legislations governing this area including right to buy, consultation, sales, service charges, managing lease breaches, lease extensions, tackling works in dispute.

Extensive experience and consistent achievement at a senior management level in an organisation of comparable scope and complexity.


Experience in leading, motivating and managing services with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve consistently high standards and deliver strategic objectives, policies and value for money services through effective service planning.


Excellent interpersonal skills will mean that you are able to be supportive and motivating as you lead and inspire, empowering your teams and colleagues whilst being clear and firm about performance and service delivery.

An expert communicator who has extensive experience of developing excellent relationships with key partners.

You take personal responsibility to obtain and maintain trust of a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, internal departments, external agencies, government departments.


A critical thinker with innovative and creative problem-solving skills that achieve the strategic objectives of the council, while managing and minimising risk across the service.


Highly organised and analytical with an attention to detail, able to analyse complex financial data, and identify trends and make appropriate decisions.

High personal integrity with a respect for the dignity and confidentiality of others. You will be committed to equal opportunities and understanding how the service needs to adapt to improve accessibility.
