The job itself:

The governors are looking for person to join our hard-working team of staff.

We are keen to appoint a person who will be able to quickly establish and maintain good working relationships with pupils, staff and parents and work closely with other members of the school team.


The post holder will:


  • Be responsible as a team member for the safety, welfare and good conduct of the pupils during the midday break, under the direction of the school business manager or headteacher
  • Support safe play and organisation of pupils
  • Supervise and support children during lunchtimes in the dining hall, on the playground and on the school premises in general
  • Assist in ensuring that spillages and tables are cleaned up
  • Assist in ensuring that dinner registers tally and are available in the event of an emergency situation
  • Provide first aid
  • Undertake any necessary training, such as safeguarding, first aid, data protection etc.
  • Be an understanding and caring member of the school team
