Finance Analyst

Location:
London (Hybrid)


Length:
ASAP for 6 months


Rate:
£24.04 p/h


Hours:9am - 6pm


Responsibilities:


  • Complete welldefined tasks such as data preparation, database maintenance, routine financial analysis, dashboard automation under the guidance and with expected iteration from manager or colleagues prior to completion.
  • Make recommendations on the best way to analyze information, consistent with established standards and policies.
  • Provide regular updates regarding these tasks and objectives. Quickly and appropriately escalate concerns that may be outside of assigned area(s) of expertise (e.g., business partner feedback, process deficiencies). Start to recognize patterns and normsin the process.

Challenge:


  • Identify data requirements for a given business problem, perform root cause analysis, synthesize data, and compile standard presentations, reports, or dashboards with guidance from manager.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement.

Influence:


  • Maintain appropriate level of engagement with team members and business partners as defined by role scope such as solving minor questions independently.
  • Contribute to crossproject or crossteam collaborations.
  • Provide coverage for similar roles at the same level when necessary (ensure coverage/continuity of own work/outputs, provide role resiliency).
  • Share knowledge, when relevant, with team members or peers, to help execute welldefined tasks.
  • Contribute to a project within a defined scope and set of processes with own immediate team, assigned business partners, or peers in different finance teams as an individual contributor.
  • Offer suggestions to senior team members and management on how to improve/optimize processes
  • Demonstrate expertise with relevant core tools (e.g., BQ, PLX, SQL, Oracle, SAP, gCore, Anaplan) to efficiently gather data.
  • Acquire an understanding of our client' technologies and methods while continuing to increase domain knowledge, technical knowledge, and skills relevant to FP&A.

Skill/Experience/Education:


  • Accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, managerial accounting, and cost accounting principles (e.g., capitalization, revenue recognition, CapX, balance sheet inventory, analyzing assets and understanding accruals).
  • Finance risk management
  • The ability to monitor the risk environment and provide insights to enable effective risk management and controls.
  • Financial modeling
  • Ability to complete financial modeling such as deal modeling, M&A activity, multiyear forecasts, cash flow models, etc.
  • Financial performance metrics
  • Ability to create, track and manage KPIs and other financial performance metrics.
  • Financial research and analysis
  • The ability to systematically gather and analyze data from a variety of internal and external sources (e.g. external valuations,10Ks, benchmarking, commodity movements) and draw conclusions, generate alternative solutions and evaluate outcomes. This includesthe ability to add value to business planning and strategies.
  • Financial technical aptitude
  • Ability to quickly learn and/or use a financial system/technology (e.g., ERP, SQL, or relevant systems), understand and clearly explain familiar finance related technologies, solve or analyze technical issues or provide useful technical insights when needed.
