As the Communication Assistant of a brand new Centre within the Computer Science department at the University of York you will be working in the exciting and topical area of safety and assurance of autonomous systems, robotics and AI.

You will help shape the communications activity and stakeholder engagement which will help establish the Centre in its inaugural year and work with the Communication and Impact Manager and wider Centre team to help deliver a series of events, campaigns and communications projects.


Role:


In this role you will:

  • Support the launch and roll out of the Centre for Assuring Autonomy
  • Contribute to the implementation of the communication strategy
  • Develop content for our offline and digital communication channels
  • Work with the Communication and Impact manager on both internal and external communications.
  • Work with stakeholders and colleagues of different seniority and engage in a wide range of communication activities with the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of the new Centre for Assuring Autonomy.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed:


  • Manage content calendars for blogs and newsletters, ensuring posts are approved, scheduled and posted on time.
  • Work with the Centre staff and wider partners to collate stories and items for our monthly newsletter.
  • Review, edit and update content on our University website to remove outdated content and ensure any new content is added in a timely manner.
  • Work with the communication manager and central communications team on external media relations.
  • Work alongside the communication manager to support the creation, development and delivery of communication projects and campaigns for different stakeholder groups.
  • Support the communication manager with internal communication activities.
  • Work alongside the communication manager to support the communication needs of the wider Centre team, for example promoting published papers, conference appearances and journal publications.
