Description

Our client is a traditional well-established privately owned automotive 1st / 2nd tier with sites across the Midlands including a facility in West Bromwich.


They are currently seeking an experienced CMM Metrology Engineer who can join their quality team to support the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities will include - Lead the Metrology department

Work with sales, customer, and manufacturing on New Product Introduction

Measure and collate Initial Sample Inspection Reports

Undertake capability & MSA studies

Manage first off activities and associated tooling corrections.

Manage gauge procedures and maintain frequency of calibration and acceptance.

Maintain customer drawings and associated engineering specifications.

Take part in continuous improvement activities

Actively promote quality system awareness.

Prepare and deliver audit reports

Investigation of quality problems and identifying sustainable solutions.

Assist the Manager in any metric reporting.

Build and maintain customer relationships.

Undertake and report on any statistical reports as required.

Conduct process / system audits and manage any non-compliance.

Receive and manage customer SQA representatives on-site.

Hours are 7:30 till 4:30 Monday to Thursday with early 12:30 finish on Friday.

Salary levels are circa £40 / 42,000.
